Si les drifters sont groovy, Ella est carrément swingy. J'avoue avoir beaucoup hésité avant de sélectionner un titre de l'abum "Ella Wishes You A Swinging Christmas", tant l'intérêt de l'album ne réside pas dans un titre particulier, mais dans l'ensemble, judicieux enchaînement de grands classiques du Noël américain, tantôt irrésistiblement swing, tantôt tendre balade. Finalement vous échapperez à "Sleigh Ride" et "Frosty the Snow Man", qui appartiennent indiscutablement à la première catégorie, pour écouter cette berceuse classique, que l'on imagine volontiers écouter en s'endormant un soir de 24 décembre devant sa cheminée…
